Support to change your home

There are a range of government programs and rebates to help you electrify your home and transport

Check out which of these programs can help you at www.solar.vic.gov.au/Solar-rebates. You can find more information and guidance at the Victorian Solar Hub and lots of other places like solar quotes. Like anything, it pays to shop around.

  • Solar panel (PV) rebate - Save up to $1,850 with a solar panel (PV) rebate, plus the option for an interest-free loan.
  • Solar battery rebate - Eligible households can claim a discount on the cost of installing a solar battery system.
  • Solar rebates for rental properties - We’re making sure renters can also benefit from solar. A rebate of up to $1,400 is available for rental properties, subject to a lease agreement with renters.
  • Solar hot water rebate - We are providing a rebate of up to $1,000 on solar (or heat pump) hot water systems.
  • Solar for community housing - Solar panel rebates will maintain their current value of up to $1,400 until 30 June 2022.
  • Virtual Power Plant (VPP) pilot program - The Solar Victoria VPP Pilot Program is a new initiative designed to connect Victorian households and reduce their energy costs by making the most of renewable energy from solar panels.
  • Solar for Business program - Rebates of up to $3,500 are available to help eligible Victorian small businesses install rooftop solar. Employ the sun now and start saving on your energy bills.
  • Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) Subsidy - The Zero Emissions Vehicle Subsidy is available to Victorian residents and businesses and will support more Victorians to purchase a new electric vehicle sooner.
